Perun (Thunder, Peren, Pyarun (Belorussian), Peron, Ferry (slov.), Peraun (Czech), Piorun (Polish), Perkunas (lit.), Perkons (Latvian)) - God of the storm, fertility, war, the patron saint of warriors. (Peren, Perkun) is a thunder god, a victorious, punishing deity whose appearance arouses fear and awe. He is stately, tall, with black hair and a long golden beard. Seated in a fiery chariot, he rode across the sky, armed with a bow and arrow, and smote the wicked. According to Nestor, the wooden idol of Perun, set in Kiev, had a golden mustache on a silver head.
